Happy new year! Thank you for all the support...

By Sabreen Rezvie

Almost two years ago my friends and I were talking about turning my hobby into a small business. At that time I was making beard and hair oil for myself as a solution to my skin and scalp problems. I couldn’t afford to buy the commercial products on the market nor I wanted to buy some expensive imported product. I decided to make them myself. My friend suggested that I bring down some products and sell it in Sri Lanka, its easy money. “Where’s the fun in that?” I said, “If I am going to do something, I’m going to do it right, and make something that I would use myself”.

That’s where Kavemen began! It took me almost two years to self-fund all the ingredients, equipment, packaging and RnD. I made numerous mistakes along the way. But I also met a lot of like-minded people who loved the idea and wanted to join me in this venture. It’s been little over a month since we officially launched, and we have already sold out and restocked some of our products.

I always saw Sri Lanka as a resourceful country, we used to export different type materials and products. We don’t see any value in that anymore, at least not as much as we used to. Looking at the end product I am happy to say that we are contributing to our community, we’re creating jobs in areas that we wouldn’t have dreamed of two years ago.
I would like to thank all the support and feedback from our customers, well-wishers, friends and family. It takes a lot of time and patience to start something on your own. The ride was pretty rough — but it was worth it! There is still a long way to go.
Have a great 2018 and remember Kavemen don’t shave 🙂 If you like to see what we’re cookin’ checkout our beard oil collection.
